Ruminate: Hagah [haw-gaw]: to meditate, moan, growl, utter, speak. The idea of a mental exercise, planning, often is accompanied by low talking (Pr-Verbs 24:1-2) (Vines Hebrew/Greek Lexicon)

Cud: a mouthful of previously swallowed food regurgitated from the first stomach of cattle and other ruminates back to the mouth, where it is chews slowly a second time. (Webster)

Chew the Cud: To recall and think over something; ruminate, ponder like the Cud of The Word of God.
